Helen Kavanagh qualified at Newark Technical College in 1989 after studying the NTC Diploma in Woodwind Making and Repair. She has been providing quality Woodwind and Brass Repairs and Clarinet and Saxophone tuition in Stratford-upon-Avon and the surrounding area for over 30 years.
Prior to starting her own business in 1995 Helen worked for Music In Print Ltd for six years. Based at their Stratford-upon-Avon store she, managed their UK wind instrument repair operation.
REPAIRS AND TUITION
We offer a comprehensive repair service at competitive prices. All work is fully guaranteed and carried out on site by Helen Kavanagh, giving you the opportunity to speak directly to her about your individual requirements

Repair Services
We offer three levels of service
Clean & Setup: This involves dismantling the instrument, cleaning body, keys and toneholes. The pads are checked before the instrument is regulated and lubricated throughout on reassembly.

Working Order: As for Clean and Setup plus the replacement of pads, springs and corks as necessary. Enough itemised work to get the instrument into good playing order, by carrying out as much or as little work as you the customer wishes to be done.

Repad: This involves dismantling the instrument and cleaning thoroughly. All pads are replaced, springs and corks are checked and replaced as necessary. Finally the instrument is adjusted and regulated throughout and lubricated on reassembly.
Other Repairs: Most minor and emergency repairs can be carried out quickly. It is however advisable to telephone before a visit to check availability. There is a minimum charge of £17.50

Appointment Service: An appointment service is available at no extra charge for customers who would like to pre book their instruments for a particular day.

The current hourly rate is £37.50

Tuition
Helen teaches Saxophone and Clarinet to all ages and standards around the Stratford on Avon area and online via Zoom, Skype and WhatsApp. So if you are a complete beginner or returning to music making after a break get, in touch.
Lessons are tailored to suit your requirements and are available in 30 & 45 minute or 1 hour slots, priced at £15.00, £22.50 & £30.00
